Now available through America's Career Resource Network (ACRN). Parents are extremely important to their children's success both in school and after graduation. This guide gives parents information and resources to help their children succeed. It also serves career development professionals by showing them how to involve parents in career decision-making and educational planning from the earliest stages of their child's development. Useful for school administrators, teachers and counselors to assist in strengthening ties between school and home.

The O*NET Career Exploration Tools are a suite of assessment tools designed for career counseling, career planning and exploration. The tools are designed to assist a wide variety of individuals to gain personal insights that will help them identify occupations that they might find satisfying. These instruments will help individuals identify their work-related interests, what they consider important on the job, and their abilities in order to explore those occupations that relate most closely to those attributes. The instruments include an Ability Profiler, Interest Profiler, Computerized Interest Profiler, and a Work Importance Profiler.

The College Board serves seven million students and their parents, 23,000 high schools, and 3,500 colleges through major programs and services in college admissions, guidance, assessment, financial aid, enrollment, and teaching and learning. Among its best-known programs are the SAT, the PSAT/NMSQT, and the Advanced Placement Program (AP).

This site has a career resource library of over 350 videos of real workers performing job tasks. The videos are streamed in RealPlayer format. Also available in Spanish.


This site is designed for individuals seeking to make a career decision. It includes the 16 career clusters and the occupational pathways for careers included in the each career cluster. Once you have selected a specific occupational pathway, you will find the educational institutions in the state of Tennessee that provide the required training to enter that field. The site also includes a link to a contact on each campus to assist you with your educational goals.


This site provides individuals of all ages career advice including self-assessments; job search databases by Tennessee counties; and resume writing, interviewing and job-readiness tips. With over 700 different careers to choose from, it is often difficult for students to focus their varying interests. Dividing the job market into clusters should assist them in viewing future career possibilities more clearly. Career clusters are occupations that are grouped together because persons employed in these professions have been shown to share similar interests and strengths. Selecting a cluster to explore provides a variety of opportunities to pursue.


Would you like to upgrade your present work place skills This site offers an extensive Continuing Education program in a non-traditional method for adults 18 years of age or older regardless of their educational background. These Continuing Education courses are delivered completely online to meet the demanding schedules of the workforce. ROCE is a preferred provider of training for WIA and we offer Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for all our courses. Many of our courses also have been approved by their designated accreditation body. ROCE courses are designed to upgrade your skills, improve organizations and economic performance and to provide personal enrichment.
